Following the announcement that the Aer Lingus College Football Classic will not be played on August 29 at Aviva Stadium in Dublin, Ireland, Global Football will not host its partner event the Dublin High School Football Showcase.
Four high school American football teams and a field hockey team were due to travel to Ireland from August 25-30 along with many family and friends, among the 39,566 US visitors booked to travel for the College Football Season Opener.
Earlier this year, Global Football postponed multiple Spring Tours to Europe that were due to be undertaken by college football and soccer teams from the United States in the interest of the health and safety of our travelers.
The 2021 Dublin High School Football Showcase will take place next August, during the week’s build up to the University of Illinois playing the University of Nebraska at the Aviva Stadium.
Since 1996, Global Football has explored 28 nations on 6 continents with more than 17,000 travelers, and our clients’ safety is always our top priority. We regret that student-athletes have not been able to celebrate Global Football’s 25th anniversary by visiting Europe so far in 2020 but look forward to helping them plan for future visits.
