Global Football can arrange a full travel itinerary and an opportunity to play against local opposition anywhere in the world.
In 2014, Fenwick Friars RFC from Oak Park, Illinois, embarked on a rugby tour to Ireland with Global Football featuring games against local school and club team opposition in Dublin, Galway and Limerick and an opportunity to explore Ireland’s spectacular countryside.
Irish coaches worked with the American student-athletes on identifying and creating space on the pitch, being able to better analyze their opponent and react accordingly, as well as running a good line of support. The entire purpose of the games were to make it them friendly and instructional.
During an action-packed visit, the traveling group enjoyed a tour of the Aviva Stadium, attended an AIL Rugby 1A League Match, toured the Guinness Storehouse as well as Trinity College & Book of Kells, visited University College Dublin (UCD) and explored Dublin City Centre. The Friars went on a walking Tour of Galway City, visited the spectacular Cliffs of Moher, and went to Bunratty Village, Bunratty Castle and Folk Park. The sightseeing concluded with a panoramic tour of Limerick showing Thomond Park, King John’s Castle, St. Mary’s Cathedral, finishing at the University of Limerick, with a demo of how to play game of Hurling. They attended Mass at St. Patrick’s Church, Co Meath, and enjoyed a Trim Castle Tour.
